How a 2008 game manages to be superior than a 2014 successor second-time released next-gen version. Physics, gunfight, AI, melee combat, controls, interiors, multiplayer freedom. GTA IV was balanced and ahead of its time. This video is not about realism, its purpose is to point out gameplay differences along with minor details. While GTA V has some few obvious advantages from being a sequel, the GTA sandbox core mechanics are messed up or non-existent. What about brutal gunfights, crouch ability, holding onto ledges, picking up objects, fair and fun oriented police, damage balance and overall AI. In the end these notable changes killed all the unpredictable fun and made it an experience with low replay value.

No mods were used, this is the original version of both games on PC. Cheats were used at some point for demonstration purpose, but every comparisons here are true and fair to each other. (less)
GTA 5 is definitly not without flaws, but it's much better then GTA 4
GTA 4 was a very bad game not ahead of it's time at all, to see how they when from GTA SA to GTA was depressing how lazy they became.
GTA 4 had no replay value and had boring missions, altho TLAD and TBOGT made up for the missions.
