Minestalker | Tips and Guides

Cr34tive's Tips and Guides

Greetings everyone. Welcome to another new topic on how to do a certain thing. I assume you guys may have known about minestalker arcade game in WTLS servers but are you struggling to complete it's levels? Doing it for objective or epsilon missions? Well, I am here to show you how to perform it and teach some basics about it. Let's begin.
- Basics -

The Minestalker area is a 13x16 grid.

You can locate mines in a 1-square player radius. Uncovered squares are safe, covered squares have a chance to contain a mine which can blow up if the player steps into the square. Adjacent mines tell how many mines are located in the 1-player radius. Any of it can be mine, it is not confirmed yet.

You can come across multiple mines so it would get a lot more tricky.

After uncovering certain parts of adjacent mines, you can confirm mine(s) if it's the only adjacent mine in your player radius.

Only the starter squares and ending squares are confirmed to be safe.

Once you reach the other side of the grid, all of the mines you passed through will be shown.

- Ways to go across mines -

Let's say you came across an adjacent mine, how would you go across it? When you stumble upon one, you can check the squares on your left, right as they will be safe if there's no mine confirmed or assumed before. If adjacent mines go zero, that means there's no mine in your player radius and the area is confirmed safe.
You can check this Minestalker Tutorial by WuZiMu (aka Danilo019 Danilo019 ) for more ways to get across the mines.

Although, I just watched this video the first time before making this post. I have learnt the game myself the raw way so I may have different strategies but this would also help as well. All the ideas I have learnt are prescribed here so it will be more convinient.

- The Box Situation -

This appeared to be one of the most rare and difficult situations to escape from. You get trapped on the starting point with adjacent mines covering over your escape. Luck might help you in this case but some calculations can improve your precision on which square to step on. In the following screenshot, you see at the top left corner, there are 2 adjacent mines but if you go a square below, it's 1, meaning one of the 2 squares on left side contains a mine. If you take a right from top left, it goes to 1 as well. Meaning one of those 3 squares contains a mine too. After connecting the dots, you can identify that the 5 squares from left proceeding to the corner are not safe. The right is also a risky part but with further calculations, the square at Row 1 - Column 3 is considered safe since the mine can not be more than 2 squares further so it's considered safe.

That is all the information you need about minestalker and getting through the mines. The game can be tricky, can also melt you brain but you must figure it out. It gets simple as you learn things. You must try, you can't succeed without it. Good luck to everyone who have read this tutorial. I thank Ulusayshi Ulusayshi and Eyemef Eyemef for giving extra tips on this game. Without them, I couldn't have made this whole thing.

There are 16 mines at the level 1 and the number of mines increases by 1 at each level.
example lvl1 = 16 mines lvl2 = 17 mines lvl 20 = 35 mines
